Game:
Kick-off: 11:00 AM PST
Record: 4-6 (1-5 Big 12)
Current Ranking: Not Ranked
In Brian Cabral's debut as Colorado 's interim head football coach CU stuck it to ISU 34-13. The win denied the Cyclones bowl elibility, something I am sure they thought would be a gimmie, and now they have to take their chances against Missouri this weekend.
CU outscored Iowa State 13-0 in the first and third quarters combined (with a 279-19 edge in total offense). The ISU win guaranteed that the Buffs would not go winless in league play, which they have not done since 1915 (Fred Folsom’s last season as coach). The win also ends a five game CU losing streak.
In a tail of two quarterbacks Cody Hawkins had his career best rating of 201.0 in leading CU to the win over Iowa State last Saturday. He was named the Big 12 Conference Offensive Player of the Week and was the NFF/Colorado Chapter honoree as well (first time for both). A stark contrast to his meltdown against KU the week before.
The Colorado Buffaloes (4-6, 1-5 Big 12) close out play at Folsom Field in 2010 this Saturday, Nov. 20, hosting the Kansas State Wildcats (6-4, 3-4 Big 12) in a 11:00 AM PST kickoff at Folsom Field.
There is no live television of the game. However it will be made available online via streaming video. It is a paid service not free. Otherwise you can stream audio of the game via KOA radio.
It's a good match-up as the Wildcats are a physical team that likes to run however as we know the Buffs are a hard-hitting and defend the run well. Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein has had two straight 100-yard rushing performances and Daniel Thomas has run for 1,168 yards this season. But despite losing linebacker Jon Major is still second in the Big 12 in rush defense. Playing at home should also give the Buffs an edge. Coloroado is playing with nothing to lose so here's hoping they can take care of business on Saturday.
Awkward Moment of the Week
Dan Hawkins will make one last trip to Folsom Field on Saturday to accompany Cody onto the field for senior day ceremonies before the kickoff against Kansas State .
GO BUFFS!
