Volume XIII, Issue II

File this one under, "Colorado beat the Buffs"

Game:                      Colorado vs California
Kick-off:                    12:30 PM PDT
Record:                    0-1 (0-0 Pac-12)
Current Ranking:     Not Ranked

Well, the Jon Embree era is off to a slow start. In a bid to end their road losing streak the Buffs of the Pac-12 picked up where the Buffs of the Big-12 left off, suffering the program's 18th consecutive true road loss. (19 if you count the Independence Bowl loss to Alabama). It is tough to be a Buff these days.

The Warriors, preseason favorites to win the WAC, outgained CU 343-240 in total yards. The Buffs made it interesting in the beginning of the 4th quarter by cutting the lead to a one-score game, but in the end the could not contain UH's dark horse Heisman Trophy candidate Bryant Moniz' rushing attack.

The Buffs will lick their wounds and try to regroup for this Saturday's home opener against Cal at Folsom Field.

Kick-off is scheduled for 12:30 PM Pacific. The game will be televised on Fox College Sports nationally. Adding a level of intrigue to this game, or just strangeness, this is a game between Pac-12 teams but it doesn't count in the Pac-12 standings. It was scheduled before the expansion and will remain a non-conference game.

CU will look to avenge the beatdown thrashing at the hands of Cal last year in Berkeley. For Cal this is just another game. For Colorado we remember. Cal's team and new quarterback will need to adjust to the high elevation.

State of the Week
7 - Number of sacks Colorado gave up in the Hawaii game. The offensive line is a big concern and it will need to shore up quickly if Colorado is to have any chance at a winning season this year.

2011 Planned Travel Games
9/24 - OSU
11/19 – UCLA

I am still in Hawaii! If you find yourself in O'ahu and want to eat Poi at 9:30 in the morning on Saturday hit me up.

Aloha!

GO BUFFS!
